It's the start of a New Year and it seems like everyone is talking about resolutions, goals and how this year is going to be the
Best. Year. Ever.
While these goal setting intentions are really great and I totally believe this is going to be your best year ever,
did you know that 80% of new years resolutions fail by February?!
I've totally been there!
I've set myself goal after goal, year after year only to lose steam a few weeks later, leaving me discouraged and unmotivated.
And it really sucks.
That’s why this year, I’m doing something different,
and girl, I want you to do the same!
I want you to live
your best life
and reach your dreams, every single one of you. So instead of making a long list of goals that look big and scary, this year I’m going to teach you the art of focusing on vision and setting small goals.

Step one: Start with Vision
What does your dream life look like?
What do you want to achieve this year?
What are you working towards?
This is your vision.
Your vision can be super simple or
, it's all valid here, just don't be afraid to dream big. It's all achievable, I hope that this method will help you on your way! Whether you dream of owning from owning your own home, losing a few pounds, growing your social media following or even making more time to spend with family.
Whatever it is, the first step is to grab a notebook and
write it down.
Step Two: a Change in Perspective
Now, instead of telling yourself your goal is to achieve your vision all in 12 months, done and dusted.
We all know never works this never works anyway.
We're going to take a step back,
and change our perspective.
Let's start to break it down.
Start working out all the little things that need to happen in order for your vision to become a reality. Think about all the little pieces that when put together make up that bigger picture, your vision. This is your opportunity to throw it all out there, you may have a whole heap of things, or maybe there are just a few key things - there's no right or wrong here, just get it out on the page.
For example, if your vision is to lose some weight you might write down; dig out running shoes, plan a running schedule, or join a gym or challenge defeating mindsets.
Step Three: Setting Small Goals
Remember before we start step three, small goals doesn't mean small vision. We're just taking that big vision and crafting it into small goals. The aim is to create small actionable tasks that you can divide up and tackle a few each week, which when done across a whole year add up to
All you need to do is take a little time each week to set out the small goals you're going to tackle in the days ahead and then commit to achieving them.
before you know it, you'll be well on your way to achieving your vision!
Continuing with my example, my small goals for this week might look like this:
Buy new running shoes
Sign up for a gym class
Create a meal plan
and the following week:
Complete a gym class
Find a local running group + sign up
Track your weight
and so on... it's that easy.
Can you see how manageable that all is?
You're still working towards the same outcome, towards your larger vision, but by breaking it down you're saving yourself a whole heap of stress and those bad feelings that come when you're trying to tackle something so big and can't see any progress.
